Kea is the sixth largest of all of the Cycladic islands, the island has a surface area of 131 km² and is a paradise for hikers. The island has a footpath network that spans over 80 km many of which are stone paved, they were part of an ancient network that around the 7th century B.C. connected different parts of the island. These paths have signposts to to distinguish the routs, you can get a map from a couple of places on the island
Beaches in kea
Being just one hour from Athens, Kea is a popular destination for people in the Attica region. Its surrounded by beautiful beaches and clear waters, There are a couple of organized beaches on the island that you can reach without going on bad roads and they are Gialiskari Beach, Otzias Beach, Koundouros Beach, Koundouraki Beach, Pisses Beach. Kea Watersport is located in a beautiful beach called “Koundouraki” in Koundouros. The beach is organised with umbrellas and offers refreshments like smoothies, coffee, cocktails and snacks. They offer many water sports like Waterski, Wakeboard, Canoes, Inflatables and a lot more. Next to the beach is Koundouraki Rock offering cocktails with their own seating area further up on the rocks.
